If you know anything about most uv lighting systems, they are often fluorescent or mercury vapor. Mercury vapor produce a ton of heat and are high wattage. Fluorescent produce a bit of heat and draw less wattage but the ballasts are a killer for electric with demand metering.
I just got done switching one of my commercial buildings from T12 fluorescents over to 8 ft LEDs. Fixtures that were drawing 75w per bulb plus high demand with the ballasts are now drawing 36w per bulb with no additional demand and very low heat produced. The cost savings is unreal.
