JL,

I know they have made great strides in Leukemia by using the bodies own immune system to turn white blood cells into cancer killers. One approach uses a dormant HIV virus to attach to the whites blood cells which enables it to recognize cancerous cells as an invader. The only problem being that it is a perminate transistion. Last I checked, which was years ago, it was only being used in patients that were late stage with no hope of recovery otherwise. It had remarkable results. University of Penn was doing the research.
