I'm waiting for the official opinion of Dr. Azomite for your question.
As for me, I mix a lot of rich dirt, compost, Azomite, Mycorrhiza [a root stimulant], and Bio-Char in the autumn and put it into my raised beds for use in the spring. I do the same for other parts of my garden particularly 45 containers and totes, plus new raised beds that I plan for 2017.
I also use the same mixture in refreshing my garlic beds for planting in the autumn plus I cover them with straw.
I like to keep a bag of powdered azomite to use for weekly watering of flowers for my annual and perennial plants.
