he sure loves his trades, But a trade like this is smart in my opinion. He had a down year, but he has potential and he is a lefty he will be aided by moving away from the al east as well, those parks are all homer domes and he gave up more homers last year which hurt him.

I know his era was close to 5, but the thing that makes me feel better his whip was only 1.27 which is fair, he is also a lefty. I think this could be a really good pickup. Hopefully gallardo bounces back but not as optimistic on him. Then again if he is the 5th starter could he lose a point off his era, that is definetly possible, because his era balooned when he came to the al east. there is something to those small parks with guys swinging out of their shoes, that inflates pitchers eras, so you have to realize when you get a pitcher from the al east or colorado it is and immediate help that they are not pitching there in my opinion. having said that gallardo whip was almost 1.60, and his strikeouts keep falling, so as I said he may bounce back a bit, but I don't love that trade nearly as much in my opinion.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
