I was wondering if anyone had experience with this upgrade

I have upgraded two different win98se machines to XP home with no problems at all. Take the xp readiness tests and make sure you have plenty of ram or you will be disappointed. XP loves ram. I wouldn't consider running XP on less than 256 mb sdram or the equivalent. You'll be much happier with 512 or more.
