We have a closing window of opportunity to inform the new decision makers due to the DOD procurement cycle. Funds will be transferred from the Dept. of the Treasury to DOD on 1 Jan for 2017 appropriations. 90 days after it will be a done deal IMO (having served 1 year as a finance officer). The contractor to fix the mobile device COMSEC problem highlighted by Lt/Gen Hodges will be selected by then. The DOD/CIO's policy guy told me as much stating "they were aware of the problem, working the issue and taking sales presentations from vendors". ACS was one the one that presented the SFOR Mobile Trust solution. With any new contract of this magnitude (DOD wide) they would want the new administration's review approval before signing the contract. The bottom line for me is to finish contacting them now that all concerned about this issue have been nominated. Because of her IT background and service as the Chair of the CIA's external advisory board she will immediately realize the full implications of this chink in our COMSEC armor.
