$3B is a lot given the history of Biogen's frugality when it comes to M&A expenditures. This website compared the value of M&As made by big pharma companies between 1994-2012. Biogen spent about $3B in total for its acquisitions. I would guess they may offer a max of $500- $750m given the level of risk...

They have got then best value per M&A dollar though..
