mickeybritt: When I think of the IoT, I think of it in terms of a car that drives by itself. You need to software to 'drive the car', but you also need 'the car, its body, motor, tires, etc. to drive.

SO, when Merritt says it is a $17 trillion dollar business, IT IS ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAMS AND THE CAR ITSELF that is part of the overall picture.

Of course, you can buy that yellow or green Gremlin owned (I think) by my3sons that does not have all the bells and whistles that will still get you from your home to your place of work.

Maybe I am thinking 'outside of the box or way off base', but I think Merritt would know better than you or I what makes up the $17 TRILLION DOLLARS.

OR, maybe Merritt's calculator has too many zero's or he doesn't know how to use the calculator.

Of course maybe your calculations are correct and he is 'pocketing the difference'! LOL
