Lets say the value of gold plunges to $1000 - is it worth $1300 anymore? No. I'm not completely lost on what you are saying, but I only about 40% agree with it. If NBG assets could be absolutely valued against some immovable standard then yes. If the Euro blew up, and Greece went back to the Drachma, I would hazard a guess that the bank would be worth a lot less relative to the dollar than it is now.
