That would be a partner that can't be trusted, though. Acrimony is not a good way to start a partnership, IMO.

I think it's more likely they were introduced because of the synergies. LQMT had Materion, Engel and patents, but no manufacturing expertise or ability for that matter. Eon had its own alloy for larger pieces, it's own machines for larger pieces, manufacturing expertise, some patents, but lacked all the patents it needed to complement its own portfolio and the CIP ones have a load of value. That's the really the gist of all this - the cross-licenses to provide more marketability and ease of production. Just my two cents.
