I apologize if I implied I personally think it will take a year for this to play out. I agree completely that this current litigation could be settled well before the November, 2017 fact-discovery cutoff. Anything is possible once SFOR'S attorneys start reviewing the documents. What I was attempting to convey is that at least now, we have a concrete time line from the court to give us context and a backdrop against which we can gauge our investment decisions and timing. This was the detail that Kay could not discuss in his video when he said settlement could come this month or in a few years (obviously, I'm paraphrasing). Now we know, we will likely have a settlement between now and fact-discovery cutoff just under a year from today. That's not to say this litigation won't go past that and continue on to trial, but statistics show, the closer a lawsuit gets to trial, the higher the resulting settlement, or damages awarded at trial.
Only my opinion. I can only speak for myself, but this is a long-term gamble I'm happy to take. Your own comfort with risk should dictate your investment decisions.
