While not having the definitive LEGAL answer,

The expiration timing of the original formulation date
is suspect to expiration. It would make sense that
the additional complimentary compound application was
pursued. Since NPTO has indicated that synergy was
"to be expected" it would seem we are back to the
stand alone. Many here think that is the most effective anyway.
