That graphic for the history lesson is very misleading. Einstein would definitely not approve. Republicans took control of the presidency, house and senate in 1921 with Harding. Then followed republicans Coolidge and Hoover and they also had republican majorities in both houses of congress. The 1920s were great years of growth until that stock market crash.

When the market crash of 2008-09 hit, the democrats were in power in both the house and senate. Times were pretty good until they took control.

Other periods of full Republican control included 1897-1909. McKinley and Teddy Roosevelt. Some nice growth then too.
