The fact is, it was a Markman Hearing to prove the validity of the Patents claims. A Markman Hearing is about Patent Claims Construction pretrial or during a trial. Where both Plaintiffs and Defendants try Prove or disprove each Claim within the Patents to the Judge.

At which point the Judge has been fully educated on the Patent claims and ready, should procedings Proceed to a Jury Trial and the Judge is fully capable of giving instructions to the Jury thoughout the Proceedings.

The hearing you're so wrapped up in was in 11/2014. The spring of 2015 was when MS/PF got caught hiding shit from discovery, it was scheduled for jury trial in 01/2017 just before settlement.

Don't see how you can draw the conclusions about the hearing that you are.
