Sorry, I really don't have much insight into Microsoft. I do wonder why they settled out of court on the patent case with this company, based on what I know about how (and how long) various authentication schema have been used. So much is being kept "secret" by this company vis a vis the Microsoft settlement that I is impossible to do any more than speculate. Which, I suppose, is exactly the goal of the company.
