OT: Tuesday evening I suffered severe vertigo, nausea and vomiting. My first ride in an ambulance to the ER. Because I have been also feeling a nagging right ear problem for over a month since I had a short cold... the ER Dr. called it a vertigo related problem due to that. I was released at about 10:30pm after getting IV anti-nausea meds. My wife drove us home and I went to bed. Went to a ENT specialist Wed. and she checked me out and had a hearing test done. She found no problems related to the ear and the inter ear looked normal. The hearing test did show a reduced level of hearing though in the right ear. Could have been there for years. She did note that on the CT scan that the ER did the night before, there was a very small anomaly next to the part of the brain that controls balance. They want to do an MRI just to see if that's any problem there or related to my episode. Will have that MRI done Friday with a follow up with the ENT Dr. on Monday. Also may meet with a Neurological Physician as a consult.

There is one other factor that I'm feeling more strong about that might have been the cause. I got a flu shot on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. The ER Dr. and the ENT Dr. both leaned away from this as probable cause. I've had occasional head aches before after flu shots....but nothing like Tuesday evenings reaction. But if they don't find any other reasonable cause, though rare, maybe I'm one of those in 10 million that had a severe reaction. We'll see how this plays out.
