Hank, I agree there are a lot, but otoh a serious tech discussion should not be burdened with having to explain everything to the uninitiated. These discussions are not at the level of white papers for general audience. That having been said, it's never out of line to ask, though I always try googling, often combining the acronym with 'clinical trials' and most of the time it's easy to get the answer. So I would suggest you accept that burden and if you still can't get it then ask. I do think it's up to us to get ourselves up to speed in the tech lingo if we want to follow technical discussions. my $.02.
