You're right about "sticking your neck out" being hazardous to your military career. I perfectly understand where your sister's perspective. She is still on active duty and correct me if I'm wrong, holds a regular commission (from Annapolis). I'm retired and hold a Reserve Commission as do the majority of officers. That distinction allows me to advocate for a company's product like SFOR's Mobile Trust. The best example of this was Brigadier General Chuck Yeager. He advertised in his flight suit, in front of jet for Ray-O-Vac batteries years ago. He like most WW2 fliers held Reserve Commissions as there we so few West Point Grads in the then Army Air Force my father flew in.
