The WSJ article is not comical, IMO. Whatever the reason, global trade is not growing as quickly as I thought it would a few years ago. Hopefully, this is a temporary problem.

"They believe globalization has reached its peak." That's absurd and comical, IMHO. MNC's will stop trying to grow? They will shrink their footprint and stop selling into countries around the world? Absurd.

Economies around the world aren't strong (The EU being the largest and weakest). It also takes time for billions of people to move into the middle class and they will fuel continued growth in globalization.

Also, what global trade numbers are they comparing? Commodity prices are down significantly which decrease global trade all else being equal. Massive port strikes also impact global trade numbers.
