Well, this is interesting new data. First, they don't say how many are in stores - other than 'hundreds' which is strange. I would expect that if they were anywhere near 1000 they would say it. It is not clear to me that they are over 500 yet.

Second, it doesn't say either how many kiosks were used to print nearly 300,000 coupons. That's a big number but over 5 months it is 60,000 per month, and over say 300 kiosks it is about 6-7 per day. If the 'redemption rate' of those applies to the number printed that's about 1 redemption per day per store, which doesn't seem cost effective. Is the 'vast majority redeemed' referring to the majority of those printed or the majority of the 17% were redeemed on the same day vs some other day? Words matter.

Also missing is a quote by someone at Rite Aid who is involved with monitoring the process, indicating their extreme pleasure with how they are performing per store.

So, what are we to think--is this great news or not? I don't know, but given their history I remain very skeptical.
