Yup. Pitching and defense are supreme in the playoffs and Texas had neither. The cracks in the rotation could be seen as early as late August, when Hamels started getting rocked consistently and only the most diehard ostrich Rangers fans refused to acknowledge there might be a dead arm problem. And let's face it: while there is precedent for a mediocre batter stepping up huge in the post season, it's incredibly rare that a mediocre pitcher comes up huge.
This Rangers team reminds me of the 2014 Angels. Best record in the league, fodder in the playoffs. Gonna be a long plane ride back to Texas.
