Nope. Abacuses aren't my thing. I like electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical (complex design mechanical) devices that can crunch numbers and also crunch string data.

It's a weird thing. I also love combustion engines running - external/Stirling or internal - especially the old 'hit-and-miss' single or twin cylinder internal combustion engines you see at state and county fairs. I can sit and watch those things run for hours. I don't know WHY, it just draws me.

Same with fountains. I can sit and watch a water fountain (nott a drinking fountain - a fountain like Trevi or at Trafalgar Square) for hours. I never get bored watching them.

Or watching a silver maple tree or aspen with its leaves fluttering in the wind, or the surface of a lake or pond rippling in the wind with sunlight shimmering off it so it sparkles. I can sit with a drink and watch that for hours. It calms me and puts me in a relaxation trance.

Or bobbing in a fishing boat with my lines ~OUTT and sitting watching the bobbers or reeling in a lure return and casting ~OUTT again - over and over.

My favorite place is sitting on a patio on a hill overlooking a bunch of silver maple trees with leaves fluttering in the breeze and the lake shimmering from sunlight reflecting off the ripples caused by the breeze. With a cool beverage and the sounds of birds and squirrels in the background.

Butt never an abacus. I have zero fascination with abacuses (abacai?).
