The part I agree with is that, you're right, Linda Powers, and for that matter Neil Woodford chose the Road Less Taken. Your statement about ARGOS may be somewhat true to a degree:

However, throughout history, "the right way" is often just another manner of stating the tried and tested approach. Some words from AF after CLDX failed its phase III trial were something to the effect, even if you do everything right, studies can still fail.

It's understandable your personal opinion recoils at the thought LP may have pulled off the Louisiana purchase in Sawston, but it does demonstrate vision. I live in a place where housing prices fluctuate to an extreme over time, so I clearly understand the potential for vacant building space when economic events change the realty landscape.

Still, the greater vision here, supported by NW, is increasing biotech efficiency, boosting the local/national economy, creating an imaginative environment akin to Silicon Valley and intelligently translating breakthroughs into commercially viable applications. NWBO can likely unlock a few more acres here and there over time as demand and local constituents see fit. Meanwhile taxes are low on the excess, and prior environmental degradation cleanup makes the landscape increasingly habitable.

More on point, if NWBO science translates to survival, which I think we are again about to witness, this then can translate into clinical and perhaps commercial expansion that LP and NW have taken great pains to prepare for. People underestimate NW's desire to help Great Britain thrive with high tech jobs; and likewise, critics short change NWBO's and UCLA's desire, ability and potential to create a new immunotherapeutic paradigm that will ease patient suffering.
