I've seen it happen a hundred times, transfer a problem rather than deal with it ...

JWC has his job available. Posted as of August 31, 2016 - two months after he joined LQMT. If he was a "problem," then he either a) left on his own accord (the job wouldn't just be posted now) or b) if someone followed him, they hated it and left in 2 months, haha, but b) ain't what happened. Poke around on the JWC management team - they have former Fortune 100 executives there - and not "problems" either, they're in prime years of leadership.

Here's a unicorn thought - all prospective employees had to sign NDA's - when they took this guy around saw the Engel machines, things being worked on, met other scientists working there, etc, what do you think made him say he wanted in? Was it the lack of dollars? Was it the nonexistent revenue? Was it because he's a "problem"? Or was it something else?
