Though, sometimes people sit on the sideline and jump in when they are ready to jump in. Rather than wait for your order to "possibly" execute at a price lower than the ask they would rather have the peace of mind that they are guaranteed to get their shares before the ask goes even higher. Yes, you stand to pay a premium that will likely subside throughout the day.....but what if it shot straight to .07 and settled there. I've been priced out of stocks many times and kicked myself for a few hundred, even thousand dollars difference.
