I finally figured it out.
I have been trying to understand how we got here.
Today I ran into an old coworker who should have been fired years ago. I realized OMG, he is Benny Powell, no not really, but they have the exact same mentality and way of doing business.
Have you ever worked with the person who always complains they never get promoted or are never been given the opportunity to succeed? Reason is everyone in the office knows they will muck it up, do a half ass job, or as soon as the stress starts they shut down and hide as they cannot handle it?
This is it. That is Benny. Every office has a few, but I realized it today. Benny is that guy who cannot handle pressure or multiple things at once.
He has an image of himself in his head, he plans things out in his head, but as soon as they don't happen that way, he shuts down, unable to function and everything is too much. Then he gets sick and/or hides from everyone.
It's OK Benny you can come out of your hole now.
This personality type is the exact opposite of what makes a good CEO.
