GAK62 - It is always nice to see one's patents protected. Especially when a giant like Microsoft allegedly attempts to ignore another company's intellectual property (IP). Wave too has IP and patents that I would like to believe are enforcable, even against the likes of IBM and Microsoft. That way, at least, we know who deserves to get paid relative to what they own.

However, I'm sure that your question is more specific to whether you believe this could impact any presumed relationship between Microsoft and Wave, or, in some way, change Microsoft's plans as they may relate to Wave near term...

My immediate first answer is --- Who knows? As of today, I see no such relationship in writing between the two companies. Therefore, whether this news helps or hurts is pure speculation, and moot. My follow on response response would be the I believe this is very good for Wave for the following reasons:

1. I do not believe that Microsoft is about to back out everything the've done relative to this alleged patent infringement. When have you ever seen that? Quite the contrary! This litigation is about compensation, and fair business, that's what InterTrust is fighting for. Microsoft is not going to re-write all of these things now. Who believes that?

2. Wave has (I believe) some kind of relationship with InterTrust already, where Wave integrated InterTrust's DRM solution onto their SOC solution, or the other way around. Therefore, if Microsoft is forced to buy their way out of this infringement in order to coninue along their path, Wave already has a workable solution there too.

So, to these ends, we as Wave shareholders should be happy every time the little guy prevails, because it sends a message to companies like Microsoft that it may cost you more to try to screw the pooch then pay for the pooch's goodies in the first place. Will it slow Microsoft's plans down any? No! Will it stop them from doing this same kind of insideous act again -perhaps even to Wave --- No!

Therefore, I don't think that it will help or hurt Wave, unless there truely is a Microsoft/Wave relationship in the offing, and Microsoft tries this with Wave. At least we as shareholders can take some comfort that the little guy does get protected.

Plans, if there are any, will likely proceed as planned.
