Part 1: I had a good phone call yesterday with a DC office senior staffer
for my Senator. My Senator sits on the Senate select sub-committee for intelligence. When I called he had pulled my service record. He knew who/what he was talking to. He also had the articles I requested he read previous to our scheduled call.
They were: the June AFN interview of Lt/Gen Hodges taken during the Anaconda NATO field exercise in Poland where he said "I assume everything I write on my Black Berry is being monitored" and "Neither radio communications nor e-mails are secure". and the PR that the US Army is switching from Androids to I phone 6s in FY '17.
I was pleased he pulled Strike Force's Mobile Trust information as we spoke for reference. In short order, with my briefing, he fully realized the implications of the Army's potential massive COMSEC problem. He had no doubt as to the potential OPSEC disaster in waiting leading to possible mission failure. Realizing the gravity of the situation of our military members texting without zero-day key logger protection and encryption he
informed me of his plan to address the situation.
