JB Stated:In my view TPP really doesn't matter much because the barn door was opened with the original NAFTA agreements..

DD Responded: "I don't understand the logic in that statement."

In my view the TPP Trade agreements will just lower the cost a step down as the current NAFTA/China partners costs have risen. Again, we will be able to buy all types of stuff cheaper than we buy it today. Just what we need, more cheap stuff.

What it won't help is moving any manufacturing back to the states.

For many decades, manufacturing was the step stone used by the majority of poor Americans to climb into the middle class. This was a group of lunch-bucket men and women who were proud to support their families.

When today's politicians complain about the missing middle-class they don't realize that they were responsible for their dismiss. Politicians feel they can legislate higher wages and they are completely out to lunch on that one.

Here's a simply explanation just using or nation rather than the world as a basis. Let's think of 5 rich pockets of our nation and why they are rich:

NYC: Exports Finance and the Arts. Imports Cash.
Cambridge Ma. : Exports drugs. Imports Cash
Hollywood Ca. : Exports Entertainment. Imports Cash
Palo Alto Ca. : Export Electronics. Imports Cash
Dallas Tx. : Home of Oil. Imports Cash

Now, since America joined the trade agreements in strictly imports cheap stuff and Exports Cash.
