I believe that you have consistently hit the nail on the head with your explanations of what could be going on.
All I know is that LP & LG are very very intellectual business professionals as well as learned attorneys and financial experts. I don't think for a moment that I am close to them in the breadth of financial and stock market experience. And given all this wealth of knowledge and experience you have to wonder couldn't they have handled it differently and doesn't the long standing current silent scenario point towards legal defensiveness on their part. Again, the better least said the better mentality?
These are my questions and my opinion but Happylibrarian is certainly pointing the finger accurately imo.
