I suspect part of MacFarlane's decision to do the interviews was to gain publicity for the drug in hope of getting Australian grant money for ongoing trials. Odds are high he'd like to remain as the principal investigator in any upcoming trials and his chances of doing so will be higher with Australian grant money involved.

Pure speculation on my part, but, that's the only logical reason to take the risk of speaking out like that regarding an ongoing trial. PI's normally stay silent in the midst of a trial.

Agree....I consider MacFarlane a "hero" and glad to have him in our corner--not the "villain" others on this board are making him out to be !!!
