I can't comment on Windows 10 because I have not tried it.
I am using Windows 7 on a five-year old PC desktop that I had built for me. With Windows 7 my computer accomplishes everything that I ask of it. And I am very familiar with this OS.
Windows 7 will still be supported through 2020, (I think I read). By then this computer will be about 9 years old. Maybe I will stretch it out to 10 years. When I replace it, I will look at what OS I need at that time.
Meanwhile, I won't have to wonder what privacy I have given up to obtain the free Windows 10 OS.
My parents taught me never to accept candy from strangers. I'm an old man now, but I am still suspicious when someone offers me something for free.
I don't mind that many people have chosen the free upgrade and seem quite happy with it. It is just not something that I need.
