Your perception of the Soviet Union is way off. I've dealt with them in the past for over 20 years, and the only thing they respect is bold strength, and the only thing they care about is themselves. The first day after Chernobyl they blamed it on me. And as the world wondered for days who their Politburo would chose to run the country, I was the only one who said it would be Mikhail Gorbachev, and that they would change their leader's title from calling them Premier to President. Those stories no one will ever know. Many things in the history books are not the full truth of events.
