The patent is a joke.
It is nothing more than a patent on a design structure of the outside of a acetabular hip cup.
There are millions of possibilities to create a similar structure with no involvement of this patent.
The one thing mentioned that has any importance, is that EBM is involved, because no other system is capable to produce this structure.
For me a sign that DDD sees that in the implant business you do need the support of EBM systems because no other system can produce the small open structures for ingrowth of tissue, and or maximum fixture quality when cement is used.
