As far as the 2017 timeframe, this is where devices are scaled up in speed to 100G, 200G, and beyond, and the 2018 timeframe is where the integrated transceiver devices will be ready just in time to crush the "purple wall" (see Dr Lebby slides from the PIC March 2016)
