Because Lander is still leading the scientific and capital programs. He made a commitment at the beginning of the year to eliminate dilution and increase SP. He cares about his reputation and seems to want to succeed. He has what appears to be real value in each program and dramatic value if all of it was part of the bargain. He cannot move forward on much without funding. It's not a lot of money, 4.5 million. He's hired brokers who get paid when a transaction occurs and they've been on board since May. Eli lilly has shown interest in the science.
