Beamer, Yeah, when I turn on my games, I usually switch back and forth between the action to start new DVD encodes.... NOT! What are they thinking!?

Reminds me of the old OS/2 fanatics, who claimed that the multitasking in OS/2 is the best thing since sliced CPU bandwidth. They claimed being able to write a letter, recalculate a spreadsheet, play Doom, and format a floppy all at the same time! Whoa, talk about geek macho ...

By the way, when I play the MMORPG World of Warcraft, my character sometimes has to journey for quite a while, so during those times I switch to web browsing or whatever. Of course, I'm not limited by processing power (I've got a 3.0 GHz Northwood), but instead by memory capacity (just 1 GB). I figure if I get one of those new Core 2 Duo's, plus an extra gig of memory, I can easily kick off some DVD/MP3 encoding and run the game without any slowdown whatsoever. What do I need four cores for?

As for "Quadfather" and "megatasking," that's just more examples of AMD's immature marketing department. Even teenagers would find that corny.
