Loop what makes you think it only concerns 2002. According to the press release, Nokia doesn't want to pay a dime, for the past or the future. What part am I missing?

"Nokia is seeking a determination that it has no royalty obligations to InterDigital based on its licensing agreement with Ericsson, InterDigital said."

It doesn't look to me like they are trying to get out of 2002 but the whole ball of wax.
