As of December 31, 2015, on a non-consolidated basis, JPMorgan Chase & Co. had outstanding approximately $165.7 billion of senior long-term debt and other borrowed funds, primarily commercial paper. Senior Indebtedness also includes similar obligations arising from off-balance sheet guarantees and direct credit substitutes and obligations for claims in respect of derivative products, which are not included in such amount. The subordinated notes are not secured, are not guaranteed by us or any of our affiliates and are not subject to any other arrangement that legally or economically enhances the ranking of the subordinated notes in relation to more senior claims.
