It does state it's using patented technology in some of the features which would not be open source I don't think.

If I recall correctly, Chromium is open source browser software. My guess would be the open source part is the browser and they integrated the patented features into it. Time will tell if those patents belong to SFOR or if they are a competitor. I think it's entirely possible they took the features of GuardedID and integrated them into their own custom open source browser.
