NEAH spent 50 million in R&D money. Not exactly frugal, while now D'Couto is being frugal it has nothing to do with his desire to do so, it is merely motivated by a lack of money to actually spend.

As for the measurement of success of a company, the very inability to create a product that no one is willing to pay for and is not economically viable, along with the inability to even keep an office open and employees working could be construed to be a failure or at least failing.

The fact that even so simple a thing as having an updated and accurate website can escape this CEO, shows a lack of focus and lack of personal pride in the business.
