We may know that the P value is <0.05 but what is the precise % threshold required to achieve that stat sig in the subpopulations?

The best predictions here are ultimately just educated guesses at the end of the day




Whatever the power is in the study, it'll go to hell in a heartbeat when you start working with subgroups. Beware the calculations to 4 decimal places when the subgroup is 17 and your 10 and 7 could have been 11 and six or 9 and 8 if the stop was a coupla weeks in either direction.

I discount "statistical significance" in subgroup analysis. I'd rather see "moving in a direction that confirms the primary result and suggests follow up studies on the treated general populations.
