The biggest players in the cyberworld just published their annual security reports for 2016. And unless you're in the cybersecurity business... the news isn't good:
AT&T: There was a 458% increase in the number of times hackers searched Internet of Things connections for vulnerabilities
Cisco: There was a 221% increase in compromised WordPress sites
Dell: Malware attacks nearly doubled to 8.19 billion, with the Android ecosystem being the prime target
IBM: The healthcare industry was the most frequently attacked, followed closely by financial services and manufacturing.
The list of increasing attacks and vulnerabilities goes on and on. It's all pretty depressing news for anyone with data to protect... but a huge business opportunity for companies preventing, limiting, detecting, fixing and stopping these cyberattacks
