About emotion gaps in price action.

Your correct gaps don't need to fill. But they normally do. Actually my experience says 90% of the time. And that's why I often trade gaps event if there is no positive chart pattern

The reason some people think gaps have to be filled in penny land is because they are so volatile that they are usually filled, or the person wants them filled for a better trade. But they don't have to be filled.




Investopedia's explaination;

It is often said when referring to gaps that they will always fill, meaning that the price will move back and cover at least the empty trading range. However, before you enter a trade that profits the covering, note that this doesn't always happen and can often take some time to fill.
