Thanks for the analysis. Two observations:

If insider is all on board with Li takeover, those 218M shares at some (insider friendly) price can be consider Li's (independent what name he choose to put it under). 623(218+405)M shares will put Li at 57%.


Given the freshly packed parachutes baked into this agreement, does it seem likely that management is on board with Li taking the company?

If Apple steps up to the plate, Li will be stuck with 36% and will be very expensive to buy 150M shares from the open market.


Relatively expensive, yes, but we have to imagine that if this is truly a well-planned takeover plot, Li has budgeted the cost of acquiring those final shares ($20-30M) into his total cost of acquiring our IP—ultimately an order of magnitude less than trying to engage Apple in a legitimate bidding war.

Apple has always been the key. I'd like to think that Li is really interested in working together, and that this deal will finally open up opportunities beyond Apple. But until I hear the man address us directly with some assurance, I fear that we are all lambs being led to the slaughter.
