illegal_alias... One other idea, the which you
are likely already aware, USB "wireless " Adapter
(making the computer function w/o cable connection)
thus eliminating any cable issue. You might already
have one handy. I used one upstairs for a while
(cable modem is downstairs). It worked great- \
handy gadget to have around. Personally, I doubt
that you have a "hard-wired" cable problem. GL
