Marilynt.. Tis an f (310-1125f )... Excellent . Not outdated at all.. You have a large disk.
sDRAM of 4 gig is ok (could add 4 more, small cost talk to your son about...CPU, duel core, speed about 3giga Hertz is good...

Problem(s) probably not the machine.: most likely is adjustment (tune-up) related,
for which I will be of little help. But now that you are on record someone else
probably can help you get it back on track...
