Why on Earth would that occur, lol. You think a market maker would buy shares and then sell them below market just to drop the price?? How does that benefit the market maker?

Sometimes I read this board and laugh out loud in disbelief. Market Makers don't take positions or short penny stocks. They match buyers and sellers. Sometimes they sell shares and lose money because they can't locate certs, but that is not the same as taking a short position like a trader does in a margin account.
