Your interpretation seems correct.

One of the big features of Alz drugs is extremely high failure rate - 99% failure - as such investors are skeptical about any early success - which seems short lived - that is reflected in the low valuation.

That is is one of the reasons why market is looking for 12 and 26 weeks data to get better idea on efficacy.

Company probably is looking to hedge bets by looking at alternative such as 3-71 - I consider as a better strategy.
