I'm just clarifying that your comment "If Dumas did put a halt AMEX perhaps he did it to DRAW SOME ATTENTION" was not what I was saying.

I believe the DJ source was right---AMEX called the halt. Possibly because of the "T1" (pending news= a "glowing" NR that AMEX refused to release w/o investigation..).

However, because GTE was sure the AMEX investigation would prove positive, a source leaked to DJ the proceedings--giving the NR (when AMEX releases) the credibility it would have lacked w/o the official "check-up" (since the NR must not involve a cash dep)

Sure would like the conjecture replaced w/ fact---same/old same/old in the GTE universe. But as Doc posted earlier, this should prove to be a defining moment for GTE....one way or the other.
